DIGITAL ACCESSIBILITY

What is digital accessibility?

Digital accessibility means taking into account the needs of people with disabilities when designing digital products and services (websites, applications, etc.).

Accessibility standards take into account the needs of people with visual, hearing, motor, intellectual, cognitive or psychological disabilities.

Checking that a website complies with the Référentiel général d'amélioration de l'accessibilité (RGAA) ensures that the online service being evaluated is compatible with the assistive technologies used by people with disabilities: for example, a screen reader and/or Braille display for blind people, a voice control system for people with motor disabilities...

An accessible website enables disabled people in particular to access its content and functions without difficulty. For example, an accessible site enables :

- Browsing with a voice synthesizer and/or Braille display (used in particular by the blind and partially sighted) ;

- Customize the site display according to your needs (font magnification, color modification, etc.) ;

- Navigate without using the mouse (with the keyboard only, via a touch screen, by voice or any other suitable device).

To achieve this, the site must comply with the standards in force when it is created and updated.
